Fundraiser: Walk for BIPOC Student Midwives

Set your alarm and join the BIPOC Student Midwives Fund on Saturday, May 18th from 10 am - 12:30 pm for our annual fundraising event. This year we are hosting a walkathon around beautiful Lake Merritt in Oakland during the Month of the Midwife!

We’ll be meeting across from the Cleveland Cascade, with folks starting to walk around 10:30 am. This is a family-friendly event, with refreshments and music. And local yoga instructor, health and wellness mentor and reiki healer, Shawnte Forrer will be providing a gentle yoga session for all bodies and abilities! So bring your loved ones, perambulate as much or as little as you want around the lake, and show up for BIPOC student midwives of the Bay Area.

Our fundraising goal this year is $10,000, which will support our ongoing monthly Student Skills Days and help launch our BIPOC Student Midwives Apprenticeship Fund. All donations are 100% tax-deductible.

You can choose the day of whether you would like to walk, do yoga, make art at the art table, or sit and listen to music. It's all under the "Register to Walk" button so you can start creating your own campaign to fundraise (see below). If you think you would like to join the yoga crew, please bring a yoga mat if you have one!

Directions: If you would like to register to walk or participate in the accessibility-friendly activity, click on "Register to Walk." There you can set up your own campaign to fundraise for the BSMF and ask your friends and family to donate. You can also set up a team and have a friendly competition with other teams!

If you cannot participate in person but would still like to donate to the fundraiser, please click on "Donate to BSMF."

All donations are 100% tax deductible and help us pay for the free and low cost programs that Bay Area student midwives need, as well as launch our new programs.

Everyone, please wear purple for the event! See you there!
